<p>The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders will have to wait a little longer to start their season-long defense of their International League and Triple-A National Championship crowns.</p><p>Thursday&#8217;s season opener against the Buffalo Bisons was postponed Wednesday, due to expected inclement weather in Buffalo. Friday&#8217;s game was also postponed.</p><p>The Bisons will now hold opening day on Saturday at 1:05 p.m. with a single-admission double header to follow on Sunday. The doubleheader will feature a pair of seven-inning games starting at 12:35 p.m.</p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s never an easy decision to postpone opening day, but the consistent forecast for an extended period of substantial rain and snow prevents us from guaranteeing a safe playing environment for our players as well as an enjoyable experience for our great fans,&#8221; Buffalo Bisons vice president and general manager Mike Buczkowski said in a press release. &#8220;Postponing these two games today gives us the ability to provide our fans, our team and the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders the most notice to prepare for the start of another exciting season of baseball at Coca-Cola Field on Saturday, April 8.&#8221;</p><p>The postponement does not come as much of a surprise after it was announced that the RailRiders&#8217; original expected opening day starter Jordan Montgomery would be pitching for Single-A Tampa Thursday instead.</p><p>Saturday&#8217;s probable pitching matchup will feature Johnny Barbato and Buffalo righty Casey Lawrence.</p><p>Lefty Dietrich Enns is expected to pitch in one of the games Sunday for the RailRiders, while Buffalo is expected to send out former major leaguer Mat Latos and lefty Matt Dermody.</p><p>The fourth scheduled game of the series will be made up at a later date.</p><style>
