MOOSIC &#8212; The last time Tyler Webb stepped on the mound, he surrendered six runs on seven hits in just one inning in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders&#8217; 9-6 loss in Buffalo on April 9.So things couldn&#8217;t have gone much worse for the 6-foot-6 righty this time out.Webb entered Wednesday night&#8217;s game with one out in the top of the fifth inning. The Lehigh Valley IronPigs had just scored six unanswered runs, stretched over two innings, that bounced Scranton/Wilkes-Barre starter Brady Lail from the game. The RailRiders&#8217; lead had shrunk from seven runs to one in just a matter of minutes.Now he had to provide stability for the RailRiders. The 26-year-old rose to the occasion as the RailRiders held on to beat Lehigh Valley 10-6.&#8220;When he came in, the IronPigs had the momentum going and Webb did a great job of stopping the bleeding,&#8221; Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders manager Al Pedrique said. &#8220;We had a one-run lead, he kept us in the game and offensively, we got the chance to score some runs late and kind of get a cushion going into the ninth inning.&#8221;Everything was working for Webb as he struck out six batters in 3.2 impressive shutout innings. He allowed just one hit. Without Lail lasting five innings, Webb was given the win.Webb felt he had a good command of his breaking ball and was able to use the IronPigs&#8217; aggressiveness against them.Offensively, Mark Payton continued his hot streak.The outfielder went 3 for5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Payton also displayed his speed after his fourth-inning single. He took second base, but was stranded there as the next three RailRiders struck out.&#8220;He plays hard. Plays the game the right way. He&#8217;s always prepared and we&#8217;re very happy for him because he&#8217;s such a great guy in the clubhouse,&#8221; Pedrique said. &#8220;This is a guy who can go in the lineup, anywhere in the outfield, hit anywhere and he&#8217;s always ready and he&#8217;s going to help the team to win.&#8221;Both Tyler Wade and Ruben Tejada joined Payton in the offensive bombardment.Wade went 4 for 5 with a sacrifice fly, a run scored and a pair of stolen bases. Tejada was 1 for 2 and his lone hit was a third-inning three-run home run that capped off the RailRiders&#8217; five-run inning. Tejada also drew three walks with the last two ending in runs scored.&#8220;We have to focus in that situation,&#8221; Tejada said of the RailRiders&#8217; ability to cash in with runners in scoring position. &#8220;Like last night, we lost a lot of runs there. Tonight we tried a little bit more focused on trying to not do too much. Trying to do the little things and simple things.&#8221;Barbato designatedIn order to make room for Jordan Montgomery on the New York Yankees&#8217; 40-man roster, RailRiders starter Johnny Barbato was designated for assignment Wednesday.Barbato was set to start Thursday against Lehigh Valley, but will now have to clear through waivers in order to return to the RailRiders.<ins>Montgomery impresses in pinstripes</ins><ins>Montgomery had a strong major league debut Tuesday in the Bronx.</ins><ins>While the rookie didn&#8217;t factor into the Yankees&#8217; 8-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays, he did go 4.2 innings and allowed three runs on five hits and a pair of walks. Montgomery struck out seven batters.</ins><ins>&#8220;I thought he pitched out of jams really well,&#8221; New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said, via the Associated Press. &#8220;For the first start I&#8217;m pretty pleased.
