Tons of high school students check out potential college choices at fair

Erin Gibbons knocked in the game&#8217;s only run in the sixth inning as Wyoming Valley West edged Berwick 1-0 Monday in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 softball game.Morgan Shedletsky picked up the win in the circle, allowing just five hits. Payton Boller and Colleen Cwalina each had a pair of singles for Valley West.Brooke Stout paced Berwick&#8217;s offense with two singles.Hanover Area 6, Meyers 5Hanover Area rallied with five runs in the fifth inning to overtake Meyers.Sarah Tuzinski pitched the victory and also had a double and two RBI. Brenna Babcock and Courtney Cragle also homered.Delaney Romanchick drove in Seminary&#8217;s runs with a three-run homer in the sixth inning.Tunkhannock 13,Coughlin 0 (5 inn.)Paige Mokychic had four RBI and Kendra Schultz added two more as Tunkhannock won in five innings.Schultz also threw a one-hitter, recording nine of the 15 outs via strikeouts.Molly Poray had a double for Coughlin&#8217;s only hit.Pittston Area 8, Dallas 3Trailing 3-1 heading into the final inning, the Patriots scored seven runs in the seventh to roll past the Mountaineers.Lexi Felinski hit a three-run home run to give Pittston Area the lead for good. Alexa McHugh gave up two hits and struck out three for the win and was 2 for 4 from the plate with a double.H.S. BASEBALLHanover Area 6,Northwest 3Kyle Windt knocked in three runs and Matt Clarke struck out six over three innings of scoreless relief as Hanover Area defeated Northwest.Jordan Flaim added two RBI for the Hawkeyes, who remained in first place. Windt pitched the first four innings for the win, exiting with Hanover Area ahead 4-3. Clarke closed the door on Northwest, allowing one hit.Brian Hardiman and Adam Bukavich each had an RBI for the Rangers.GAR 7,Wyo.
