<p>FREELAND &#8212; A man accused of sexually assaulting a girl and his wife &#8212; who police say failed to report the abuse &#8212; are now both facing trial.</p><p>Clyde Solt, 57, and Christina Solt, 51, both of Freeland, were scheduled for preliminary hearings Monday.</p><p>Court documents indicate Mr. Solt is headed to county court on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, rape of an unconscious victim, statutory sexual assault, and related counts.</p><p>Mrs. Solt&#8217;s charges include endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors.</p><p>Police say they <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/656875/freeland-man-charged-with-inappropriately-touching-sexually-assaulting-girl" target="_blank">first learned of the alleged abuse</a> when Mr. Solt reached out to therapists to seek help. A subsequent investigation showed he sexually assaulted a girl over the course of several years, authorities say.</p><p>Shortly after Mr. Solt was arrested, <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/658686/police-wife-charged-for-not-reporting-husbands-child-sex-crimes" target="_blank">Mrs. Solt was charged</a> because she was aware her husband was abusing a child but never brought the matter to law enforcement, court papers say.</p><p>In an interview with police, Mrs. Solt said she confronted Mr. Solt, and he told her he was sorry and would not do it again, a complaint states.</p><p>But there was another instance of alleged abuse, and Mrs. Solt said she screamed at Mr. Solt and demanded he leave their home.</p><p>The Solts are scheduled for formal arraignments in the Luzerne County Courthouse at 10 a.m. Aug. 31.</p><p>Mrs. Solt was initially jailed on $50,000 bail but is now free. Mr. Solt remains in the county lockup for lack of $250,000 bail.</p><style>
