Police: Pennsylvania man choked new bride during fight over wedding gifts

Police: Wilkes-Barre man chased people with gun, fired at least one shot

<p>BRIAR CREEK &#8212; A man is facing attempted homicide and aggravated assault charges after he allegedly shot another man with a shotgun in Columbia County.</p><p>Police said that at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Jeffrey Mausteller, 52, of Berwick, arrived at Berwick Hospital with a variety of wounds. Mausteller reportedly had wounds to his right thumb, left arm, left shoulder, and left ear from what appeared to be a shotgun round of buckshot.</p><p>Investigation revealed that Devin Hampton, 28, of Berwick, shot Mausteller following a verbal argument at a residence on Columbia Boulevard in Briar Creek.</p><p>Mausteller was transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for treatment, and police said he is in stable condition.</p><p>Hampton was arraigned before Judge Richard Knecht, and then jailed at the Columbia County Jail for lack of $750,000 bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing for 2:45 p.m. on June 12.</p><style>
