Folk icon Arlo Guthrie to perform at F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre

<p>Eighth-grade students from St. Nicholas St. Mary&#8217;s School designed and constructed a model of an irrigation system, similar to the Banaue Rice Terraces in the Philippines, for Engineers Week. Over 3,000 students from 11- countries submitted their designs. <ins>Their prototype design had to maximize the best productivity of water flow with the reward of earning points.</ins> By calculating points for the final prototype, winners will be chosen for the team who achieved a high total score while following project guidelines. Mrs. Viera Adameck and Mrs. Janice Szczechowicz were project moderators. Students, from left, are: Julianna Saltz, Rose Hayward and Emmslie Hernandez.</p><style>
