Brooks Koepka caps a record week with US Open title

<p>HAZLE TWP. &#8212; Hundreds of people descended on Community Park on Sunday for the second annual Father&#8217;s Day Car Show, with many gathering to celebrate both a love for both cars and fathers.</p><p>Jim Grohol, sitting with his wife and daughters and enjoying some refreshments, said the show had become a family tradition.</p><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m a car guy, I really like cars,&#8221; he said. &#8220;So its a perfect place to be today.&#8221;</p><p>Grohol said the event was a throwback to simpler times.</p><p>&#8220;A new breed of young people are more into technology then cars,&#8221; he said. &#8220;This is a nice time to spend outdoors enjoying food, music and, of course, cars.&#8221;</p><p>Daughters Rhiannon Mummey and Megan Grohol, who both live out of the area, said they don&#8217;t get a chance to come back to area to visit with their parents as often as they would like, but were glad they both made it back for Father&#8217;s Day.</p><p>Joe Galada III, of Tamaqua, had traveled nearly an hour to come to the event because he enjoyed the atmosphere of the park.</p><p>Galada enjoyed time spent with his daughter, Gina, 13, his father, Joe Galada Jr., and girlfriend, Vanessa Kramer, offering plenty of hugs as the family sat under some shade trees &#8220;catching up&#8221; on recent happenings in their lives.</p><p>&#8220;The park is the perfect setting for the car show, for families,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It&#8217;s a win/win.&#8221;</p><p>John Mumie, owner of Fast Life Customs LLC, a sponsor of the event, said he had started the event two years ago after it was announced that a similar event at Hazle Park would no longer be held.</p><p>Mumie said he was very happy with attendance at this year&#8217;s events, with over 60 cars entered and hundreds of people making their way through the car show area enjoying, in addition to the cars, music and food from a variety of vendors.</p><p>&#8203;&#8221;There was a threat of rain or there would have been even more cars,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We&#8217;re really glad the rain held off.&#8221;</p><p>Coleman Logan, of Berwick, entered his white 1975 Corvette in the show.</p><p>&#8220;It was a nice drive out here and I saw cars I never got to see before,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Plus, when I heard &#8216;park,&#8217; I thought &#8216;shade&#8217; and I was able to find a comfortable spot out of the sun.&#8221;</p><p>Logan said he had been to other car shows on Father&#8217;s Day, but Sunday&#8217;s event at Community Park was among the best.</p><style>
