<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The man whose body was found in an abandoned house on South Franklin Street died from multiple stab wounds, Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis said.</p><p>The death has been ruled a homicide, Salavantis said Wednesday.</p><p>Her office is assisting the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police in the investigation.</p><p>The victim&#8217;s identity has not yet been released. An autopsy was performed, but the Luzerne County Coroner&#8217;s Office referred questions Wednesday to city police.</p><p>A call to the detective division was not returned.</p><p>City police previously reported that officers from Wilkes-Barre and Kingston responded to a report of a possible body in an abandoned building in the 400 block of South Franklin Street on Monday. Officers conducted a limited search of several buildings.</p><p>Wilkes-Barre detectives returned Tuesday to resume the search and found the body in the basement of a building.</p><p>The coroner&#8217;s office removed the body.</p><p>Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Wilkes-Barre City Police Detective Division at 570-208-4222.</p><style>
