<p>NANTICOKE &#8212; If you always wanted to be like that person on TV proving a rabies outbreak started in a tattoo parlor or exposing an invisible blood trail with an ultraviolet light technique, now&#8217;s your chance. Luzerne County Community College is launching a forensic science program.</p><p>Trustees approved the addition at Tuesday&#8217;s meeting. Beginning with this fall&#8217;s semester, LCCC will offer an associate in science degree in forensic science, with an eye on preparing students to move into a bachelor&#8217;s program.</p><p>Along with taking core education courses, students in the forensic science program will take classes in biology, chemistry, physics and math, studying forensic-related theories and conducting experiments with nuclear magnetic resonance, infrared radiation and polymerase chain reaction equipment.</p><p>LCCC decided to add the program in part because of a growing demand for what are well-paying jobs. According to the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, forensic science technicians get a median annual salary of $56,750 in a field with a projected job growth of 27 percent in the next six years.</p><style>
