Cloudy skies and rain expected for the weekend weather forecast

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; City police are investigating a stabbing that occurred late Thursday on Virginia Drive.</p><p>After a brief chase and search, Quamaine Rakim Hudson, 24, was captured and now faces charges that include aggravated assault.</p><p>According to a criminal complaint:</p><p>Daniel Barrow, 60, told police he was driving his vehicle near Hudson shortly after 10 p.m. when he heard a noise as if he struck Hudson with his vehicle.</p><p>When Barrow got out to see if he hit Hudson, he asked if he was OK, to which Hudson responded: &#8220;There&#8217;s nothing wrong with me, what&#8217;s wrong with you?&#8221;</p><p>Hudson then charged at Barrow, and Barrow put his arm up in defense and was stabbed with an unknown object. Hudson then fled on Virginia Drive.</p><p>Police have not released Barrow&#8217;s condition.</p><p>Officers searched for the suspect as they received reports of sightings. A woman in the area, identified as Hudson&#8217;s mother, said he fled into a residence in the 200 block of Stucker Street with a knife. But a resident there declined to let officers check the residence, stating her husband searched and Hudson was not inside.</p><p>Bob Kadluboski of City-Wide Towing says he also spotted Hudson and called the police as he confirmed his identity. Officers converged as the suspect tried to flee again.</p><p>Officers then received a tip from a public works employee that a male matching Hudson&#8217;s description was seen walking near Cole Muffler on Kidder Street, and then was seen walking toward Dunkin&#8217; Donuts on Spring Street.</p><p>Hudson was finally located by officers, who ordered him to get on the ground. Hudson, however, began to walk backward as if he was going to flee.</p><p>A K-9 unit was then deployed, and Hudson was taken into custody.</p><p>Hudson was arraigned on his charges by District Judge David Barilla. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Thomas Malloy at 10 a.m. July 6.</p><p>Hudson is jailed in Luzerne County for lack of $15,000 bail.</p><p><em>Times Leader Staff Reporter Travis Kellar contributed to this report.</em></p><style>
