<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; City and regional law enforcement made dozens of arrests in a recent joint operation targeting violent crime in Luzerne and Lackawanna counties.</p><p>Between Friday and Saturday, Pennsylvania State Police, the FBI and other agencies conducted a series of warrant sweeps in an initiative dubbed &#8220;Operation Triggerlock,&#8221; according to a post on the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department&#8217;s Facebook page.</p><p>Police said they arrested 24 individuals with felony and misdemeanor warrants for violent offenses. The post also detailed the following results from the sweep and a proactive community policing effort:</p><p>&#8226; 22 individuals were arrested on drug possession and distribution charges.</p><p>&#8226; One person was arrested for alleged possession of a stolen firearm.</p><p>&#8226; Two stolen handguns were recovered, along with three stolen vehicles.</p><p>&#8226; One fugitive was apprehended.</p><p>&#8226; Four individuals were charged with public drunkenness.</p><p>&#8226; Seven were arrested on DUI charges.</p><p>Police, who promised to continue such crackdowns in the future, also noted that 67 traffic arrests were made. Plus, officers and agents said they seized significant amounts of drugs and other illicit substances.</p><p>Other agencies involved included the Office of the Attorney General, the Luzerne County District Attorney&#8217;s Office, the Luzerne County Sheriff&#8217;s Office and multiple municipal police departments.</p><style>
