Facing defections, Senate GOP leaders delay vote on health care bill

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; McCarthy Tire Service, the sixth largest commercial tire dealer in the United States, has purchased P.J. Dooling Tire Company of Philadelphia, according to a press release issued by the company.</p><p>P.J. Dooling specializes in industrial and off-the-road ire sales and service, with a special expertise in foam filling and pressing.</p><p>&#8220;I am looking forward to working with the Dooling Team,&#8221; John D. McCarthy Jr., president of McCarthy Tire Service, said in the release. &#8220;This acquisition is a great addition to our existing footprint. The Dooling family exhibits many of the same &#8216;service the customer&#8217; philosophies that we have, so we believe it will be a seamless transition for their customers.&#8221;</p><p>Dooling Tire&#8217;s tire sales and service operations will be merged into McCarthy Tire&#8217;s current commercial location in nearby Trainer. Twelve employees, including brothers Greg and Paul Dooling, will join McCarthy Tire Service.</p><p>The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.</p><p>McCarthy Tire Service, in business since 1926, is the sixth largest independent commercial tire dealership in North America with 2016 commercial-related sales of $301 million. It is also ranked as the eighth largest independent retreader of light truck and medium duty truck tires, and one of the top 50 retail tire dealers in the country.</p><style>
