Knicks, Phil Jackson part ways after dismal 3-year run

<p>DUPONT &#8212; Officials say a carelessly discard cigarette is what sparked a fire at a residence Wednesday.</p><p>Assistant Chief John McArole of the Dupont Fire Department said firefighters were dispatched at 9:52 a.m. for a report of a residential structure fire at 152 Main St.</p><p>McArole said crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the residence.</p><p>Smoke could be seen coming from the residence as firefighters doused the residence with water. McArole said a resident was home at the time, and the fire was started when the resident discarded a cigarette in the rear of the residence.</p><p>The resident was able to get out of the residence before firefighters arrived.</p><p>The most severe damage was contained to the outside and kitchen area of the residence. McArole believed the residence is salvageable.</p><p>According to Dave Skutnik, spokemen for the American Red Cross, the Red Cross is providing emergency assistance with lodging, food and clothing to a total of five people displaced by the fire on Main Street in Dupont.</p><style>
