Luzerne County Courthouse stained glass needs repairs, report says

<p>After going five days in between appearances with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the recently traded Matt Wotherspoon both made his debut and already pitched in his second outing with his new team this past week.</p><p>He was traded to the Baltimore Orioles and then assigned to the Triple-A Norfolk Tides on July 2, and then got the nod on Tuesday against the Gwinnett Braves. He pitched the eighth inning for the Tides and gave up a run on one hit and a walk while striking out a pair.</p><p>But Wotherspoon&#8217;s outing on Friday against the Columbus Knights went much better. The Crestwood grad pitched two innings of shutout baseball, walking just one and striking out three batters.</p><p><strong>Mike Papi</strong></p><p>The month of July has not been kind to the Tunkhannock grad.</p><p>Papi is batting just .167 with three singles, five walks and four runs scored in six games with Double-A Akron since the calendar turned. However, heading into Saturday&#8217;s Altoona game, the 24-year-old outfielder has scored runs in four of his last five games.</p><p><strong>Tony Hernandez</strong></p><p>The Hazleton Area grad pushed his shutout streak to nine innings to start the season after pitching four frames of two-hit baseball against the Gulf Coast Tigers West on Wednesday. He struck out three and walked one while picking up the no-decision for the Yankees&#8217; Gulf Coast League affiliate.</p><p><strong>Sal Biasi</strong></p><p>The Hazleton Area and Penn State alum picked up the no-decision on Monday for the Arizona League Royals.</p><p>Biasi pitched four innings of one-run baseball against the Seattle Mariners&#8217; affiliate. His first professional run allowed came on two hits and a walk. He did strike out six batter.</p><p><strong>Jhordany Mezquita</strong></p><p>The Hazleton native made his professional debut on Friday. He pitched two innings of shutout baseball, walking a pair and striking out three.</p><style>
