Union boss: Dallas teachers gave board options to make up days

<p>DORRANCE TWP. &#8212; The newly formed appeals board of the township&#8217;s planning commission is set to hear its first case Thursday &#8212; a neighborhood spat between residents of Blue Ridge Trail.</p><p>Dorrance supervisors were told by Alan Snelsen, zoning officer, that David Greene of 7425 Blue Ridge had appealed Snelsen&#8217;s decision that an existing use prevails at a property adjacent to Greene that&#8217;s home to an auto-body repair shop. Greene contends the business is not in compliance with zoning regulations and has appealed Snelsen&#8217;s decision.</p><p>He also sees the auto-body operation as a danger to his on-site water system.</p><p>In other business this week:</p><p>&#8226; Supervisors approved a proposal from Pennsy Supply Inc. for the creation of two pedestrian crosswalk zones at Pennsy&#8217;s quarry operation on Small Mountain Road. The company will pay for road painting and the erection of signs.</p><p>&#8226; The board voted 3-0 to approve the minor sub-division plan of Susanne Laws.</p><p>&#8226; It was announced by Patricia Davis, secretary-treasurer, that PPL will install LED bulbs in the township&#8217;s streetlights. The utility will cover the cost of the work.</p><style>
