Rookies dominated first half, others could shine soon

<p>FOSTER TWP. &#8212; State police are investigating a crash that killed a man early Friday morning.</p><p>Police said sometime between midnight and 12:10 a.m. Friday, George Thomas Durange Jr., 43, of Freeland, was driving a Chevrolet S10 south on Highland Road.</p><p>Durange&#8217;s vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, causing heavy disabling damage to the front portion of its driver side, according to police. Police said Durange was ejected from the vehicle through the driver&#8217;s side door as a result of the impact.</p><p>The vehicle then came to a final stop on the side of the roadway.</p><p>Durange was pronounced dead at the scene by Luzerne County Deputy Coroner Gerald Jones.</p><style>
