<p>PITTSTON &#8212; The city&#8217;s St. Patrick&#8217;s Parade has a new print-media sponsor, as the parade committee announced a partnership with the Times Leader Media Group, which comprises the Times Leader and four other area newspapers.</p><p>The parade has been sponsored by Times-Shamrock Communications for the past three years. The 2018 parade will take place on Saturday, March 3.</p><p>Sarah Donahue, city events coordinator and co-chair for the parade committee, said the committee explores its options every year and believes the Times Leader Media Group made a great case to sponsor the event.</p><p>In addition to the flagship newspaper in Wilkes-Barre, the Times Leader Media Group consists of the Sunday Dispatch of Pittston, the Dallas Post, the Abington Journal and the Weekender.</p><p>&#8220;We had the opportunity to meet with the Times Leader group and really like what they offered,&#8221; Donahue said. &#8220;They meet our needs, and we consider it a partnership. Everybody wins here. We&#8217;re excited to see what will transpire going into our fifth parade.&#8221;</p><p>&#8220;We are extremely pleased to be the print-media sponsors for the parade,&#8221; said Mike Murray, publisher of the Times Leader Media Group. &#8220;The synergies between the objectives of the parade committee and our media group made this a perfect partnership that we hope continues well into the future. It&#8217;s a premier event annually, and being an integral part of the parade process is an honor.&#8221;</p><p>Donahue said the parade committee will place the Times Leader Media Group logo on all advertising materials for the parade and, in return, will get a dedicated section in the weekly Sunday Dispatch.</p><p>The committee also will get both print and online advertising on the Times Leader and Sunday Dispatch websites.</p><p>Donahue said she specifically is happy to be advertising with the Sunday Dispatch, calling it something everyone in Pittston is familiar with.</p><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m really looking forward to working with the fabulous staff of the Sunday Dispatch, whom I greatly enjoy working with, and the Times Leader,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I look forward to seeing more advertising for us in the Sunday Dispatch, which everyone knows is a great institution of Pittston.&#8221;</p><style>

Times Leader group named print-media sponsor for Pittston St. Patrick’s Parade
