Shuck.After Rochester added two runs, the IronPigs cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Jorge Alfaro hit an RBI single, driving in Herlis Rodriguez.Jake Thompson (3-11) went 4 2/3 innings, allowing two runs and three hits in the International League game. He also struck out two and walked four. Drew Rucinski pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings for his second save of the season.Red Sox 7, Chiefs 1SYRACUSE, N.Y. &#8212; Aneury Tavarez homered and tripled, scoring two runs as Pawtucket topped Syracuse. With the victory, the Red Sox swept the four-game series.Bryce Brentz homered and singled with three RBIs and a pair of runs for Pawtucket.Syracuse tied the game 1-1 in the second after Caleb Ramsey hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Neftali Soto.After Pawtucket added a run in the third on a single by Heiker Meneses, the Red Sox extended their lead in the sixth inning when Brentz hit a three-run home run.The Red Sox later tacked on a run in both the seventh and ninth innings. In the seventh, Matt Dominguez hit an RBI double before he doubled to score Brentz in the ninth.Pawtucket right-hander Marcus Walden (8-3) picked up the win after allowing one run on four hits over 5 1/3 innings. Soto reached base four times.With the win, Pawtucket improved to 15-2 against Syracuse this season.Bats 6, Indians 5INDIANAPOLIS &#8212; Phillip Ervin hit a two-run double in the ninth inning, leading Louisville to a win over Indianapolis.Indianapolis had a runner on first in the bottom of the ninth, but Christopher Bostick flew out to end the game.The double by Ervin scored Alex Blandino and Darnell Sweeney and was the game&#8217;s last scoring play.Blandino hit a two-run triple in the second inning to help give the Bats a 4-1 lead. The Indians came back to take a 5-4 lead in the sixth inning when they put up four runs, including a two-run single by Erich Weiss.Jimmy Herget (1-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Edgar Santana (1-2) took the loss in the International League game.Jordan Luplow doubled and singled, scoring a run and also driving one home for the Indians. Starling Marte doubled and singled twice.Clippers 3, Mud Hens 0TOLEDO, Ohio &#8212; Josh Wilson homered and had two hits, and Danny Salazar struck out nine hitters over six innings as Columbus beat Toledo. With the victory, the Clippers swept the four-game series.Salazar (1-1) picked up the win after he walked three while allowing three hits.In the fifth inning, Columbus went up 1-0 on a home run by Wilson. The Clippers scored again in the seventh when Austin Jackson hit an RBI single and Daniel Robertson scored on a passed ball.Myles Jaye (1-2) went 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs and eight hits in the International League game.
