Retailers see green for back-to-school shopping with recycled clothing

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Lackawanna County man admitted Monday to setting fire to the Popple Coal Breaker in Duryea.</p><p>Zachary Sorak, 21, of Dalton, told police shortly after his arrest that he went to the abandoned breaker last August with a can of gasoline he had taken from a gas station on Montage Mountain and intended to use it to set something ablaze.</p><p>After setting the fire, Sorak jumped into the Susquehanna River and started swimming before he was picked up by police, he said. A juvenile who was supposed to meet Sorak at the breaker told police Sorak said he was in &#8220;a lot of trouble&#8221; and he &#8220;was going out with a bang.&#8221;</p><p>The breaker, located off Simpson Street, was damaged in the blaze.</p><p>Luzerne County Judge Joseph Sklarosky Jr. accepted Sorak&#8217;s guilty plea to a felony count of arson and set sentencing for Aug. 23.</p><p>An additional count of arson and counts of reckless burning and criminal mischief were withdrawn in exchange for Sorak&#8217;s plea.</p><style>
