<p>The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Luzerne, Lackawanna and five other counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania until 8 p.m. Thursday.</p><p>The other counties are Bradford, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming.</p><p>A watch means conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. The weather service defines a severe thunderstorm as a storm that can produce hail a minimum of 1 inch in diameter and/or winds at 58 mph or greater.</p><style>
