High temperatures, humidity have residents seeking relief

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The city has two new businesses on South Main Street &#8212; a tattoo parlor and a barber shop.</p><p>Electric City Tattoo, which has another location in Scranton, opened July 14 at 94 S. Main St., known as the Allegheny Lofts building.</p><p>Loyalty Barber Shop, with locations in Archbald and Scranton, will open Tuesday in the rear of the same building as Electric City Tattoo.</p><p>The tattoo parlor is owned by Nick Frenchko, of Kingston, and his partners, Elijah Birtel, Michael Wodock and Mike Frenchko, Nick&#8217;s brother.</p><p>Loyalty Barber is owned by James Simon, Brian Nardella and Anthony Ranella.</p><p>Frenchko said a lot of Luzerne County residents traveled to Scranton to patronize the tattoo parlor there, so he and his partners decided to open a location in Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>&#8220;We think this move will make it easier for our customers from down here and we hope to attract some new clients,&#8221; Frenchko said. &#8220;We also feel with two colleges in the downtown, it gives us a big market to draw from.&#8221;</p><p>Frenchko said the business is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call 570-822-3800.</p><p>Frenchko said the business employs four tattoo artists and one piercer.</p><p>Loyalty Barber Shop will offer proper gentlemen&#8217;s haircuts and straight razor shaves. The shop will be open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.</p><p>For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call 570-235-6975.
