NEWPORT TWP.&#8212; The Newport Township Community Organization/American Legion Auxiliary Unit 539&#8217;s monthly food distribution is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m., July 26, at the American Legion Post Home, 62 Newport St., Glen Lyon.Anyone who has visited the food bank in the past and did not recertify July 10 or July 17 must be recertified on July 26 at the food bank or will be deemed ineligible to participate.Forms of ID for all household members and a household bill for proof of residency are necessary for recertification. Phone application may be done prior to the July 26 by calling Lorrie at 570-736-7177 and then bringing the necessary paperwork the day of the food bank. New applicants may do the same. Only Newport Township residents are eligible.
