Harbaugh takes centerstage at Big Ten media

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A former Hazleton councilwoman was sentenced Tuesday to two years on probation for setting fire to her kitchen in October.</p><p>Karin Cabell, 52, called her boyfriend shortly after using lighter fluid to ignite the blaze and told him she burned down her West First Street home because &#8220;it was not real and nothing was real,&#8221; according to an affidavit. A neighbor also reported that Cabell warned him, &#8220;If I was you, I&#8217;d get everyone out of the building. I&#8217;m burning my house down.&#8221;</p><p>Emergency crews quickly extinguished the fire. Police later determined it was intentionally set near the kitchen sink. Minimal damage was reported.</p><p>Cabell, who resigned from council in 2012, pleaded guilty to a felony count of arson and was immediately sentenced by Luzerne County Judge Joseph Sklarosky Jr. Remaining charges were dropped in exchange for her plea.</p><p>During her probation term, Cabell was ordered to follow the service plan of Luzerne County&#8217;s specialty court, a treatment-based mental health program for offenders who would normally be prison bound.</p><style>
