HANOVER TWP. &#8212; The Hanover Township Neighborhood Crime Watch invites the public as they give crime a going away party with a National Night Out community event to be held 6 to 9 p.m., Aug. 1, at the Hanover Township Fire Dept. grounds, Breslau Hose Company Station #5, 299 First St.There will be free food and refreshments for all, while supplies last, as well as free games for the kids and a DJ for entertainment.There will be basket raffles, gift card/gift certificate raffles, 50/50 cash drawing and instant bingo.The Hanover Township Fire Dept. will do a vehicle extraction demonstration and the Hanover Township Police Department will do free fingerprinting for the kids.Luzerne County Drug and Alcohol, the Attorney General&#8217;s office, AAA, Hanover Township Lions Club, 911 Comm Center, Hanover Township Ambulance and Medic 9 will be on hand with important safety information.Everyone can enjoy The Force With Us&#8230;members of the 501st Legion, Garrison Carida. Children are encouraged to dress as their favorite character. Come dunk a police officer or firefighter in our dunk tank.Community organizations will be on hand with many give-aways, so bring the whole family.
