PGC and Delta Waterfowl improve waterfowl habitat in Bradford County

<p>There&#8217;s no bigger threat to Pennsylvania&#8217;s largest mammal than the road. It&#8217;s really not known exactly how many bears are killed by vehicles while trying to cross a road, but when it happens the results are tragic.</p><p>Perhaps these photos will serve as a reminder to be on the look-out for bears while driving. Our area has an abundant population of bruins, especially in urban areas, and collisions with vehicles are always a possibility.</p><p>John Fisher came across an example of just how dangerous roadways can be to wildlife, such as bears, when he found this cub along a road in Dallas Township. Fisher emailed the photo and wrote &#8220;Not what you want to see&#8221; in the subject line.</p><p>I agree.</p><p>Earlier this month, Lance Kittelson spotted this bruin trying to cross a busy road in Nanticoke. Kittelson said the bear, which was larger than the cub Fisher encountered, stood for some time watching the traffic pass. Kittelson had to move on himself and wasn&#8217;t sure of the outcome.</p><p>Let&#8217;s hope it was different than the cub that Fisher found.</p><p><em>Capture anything interesting on your hand-held or trail camera?
