MOOSIC &#8212; New York Yankees Aaron Hicks and Tyler Austin continued their Major League rehab assignments on Sunday.Collectively, it was the best they have looked during either of their stints with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders this week. Both collected a pair of hits as Hicks played in his fifth straight game and Austin played in his fourth.Austin&#8217;s lead-off single started a three-run sixth inning that proved to be the difference as Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (72-41) took down the Pawtucket Red Sox 7-5. Sweeping the final series between the two teams, the RailRiders have won five straight against Pawtucket (54-59).&#8220;Both guys are true professionals,&#8221; RailRiders manager Al Pedrique said. &#8220;They go about their business with a preparation. They both look healthy, ready to go. I&#8217;m glad they come in ready to contribute. They talked to the kids and felt like part of the team, so I&#8217;m very happy they showed up ready to go and help us win some games.&#8221;Dating back to the sixth inning of Saturday&#8217;s 3-1 win over Pawtucket, when Hicks led off the inning with a single to right, the Yankees outfielder has strung together six straight plate appearances with productive results.After singling and tripling in his final two at-bats the day prior, Hicks was 2 for 3 with a double, two runs scored and a walk on Sunday. The 27-year-old&#8217;s lone out in the 7-5 win came in the fifth inning when Pawtucket right fielder Rusney Castillo robbed a home run from him.Hicks will head back to New York for an off day on Monday before joining Double-A Trenton in Hartford on Tuesday.&#8220;Just being able to make solid contact and I feel like within all those at-bats I&#8217;ve been able to lay off pitches, which gives me a good sign that I&#8217;m seeing the ball and also being able to make solid contact,&#8221; Hicks said. &#8220;Today I felt really good on both sides of the plate. Just getting that feel back, you know? And today felt really good. Ready to go and just waiting to get those (at-bats) from both sides of the plate.&#8221;Austin had one hit in his three rehab games prior to Sunday &#8212; a walk-off home run Friday night &#8212; but looked much more comfortable at the plate during the matinee.The Yankees first baseman was 2 for 3 with a double, two runs scored and a walk. Austin did a good job driving the ball to both sides of the field. His fourth-inning double went the wall in right while he found the grass in left with a single in the sixth.The 25-year-old will stay with the team as it heads to Gwinnett to face the Braves on Monday.&#8220;I felt good. Got a couple pitches to hit and put some pretty good swings on some balls out there today,&#8221; Austin said. &#8220;I felt pretty good the whole (rehab assignment) to be honest. I put myself in really good counts. Just about every time I&#8217;ve gone up there I&#8217;ve been ahead in the count. When you&#8217;re coming back and you&#8217;ve missed some time that&#8217;s the main thing, putting yourself in good counts and not missing the pitch.&#8220;Early on I was missing the pitches that I should be driving and today I was a little bit better. Hopefully we can build on that and get them tomorrow.&#8221;After having his 17-game hitting streak snapped on Saturday, RailRiders third baseman Miguel Andujar responded with a pair of extra-base hits. The 22-year-old homered in the first inning, roping a two-run blast into Pawtucket&#8217;s bullpen, and doubled to the right-field corner in the seventh.Billy McKinney took Andujar&#8217;s lead and blasted a two-run homer over the RailHouse behind the right-field bleacher in the sixth inning.Last week&#8217;s International League Batter of the Week had his second straight multi-hit game and sixth in the last 11. McKinney homered for the second straight game &#8212; his 40th as a pro &#8212; and singled in the fourth.&#8220;This is incredible. It&#8217;s a lot of fun to watch,&#8221; McKinney said. &#8220;There&#8217;s so many great hitters and just so many great players on this whole team in general that it&#8217;s fun.&#8221;RailRiders right-hander Chance Adams pitched six innings of two-run baseball.
