Let’s hope it’s not the last for Plymouth High Class of ‘52

<p>MOOSIC &#8212; When New York Yankees come down to rehab with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders the one thing they&#8217;re often looking to get back is their timing.</p><p>After spending weeks, and sometimes months, on the disabled list, players need to get used to live pitching again. And depending on the way some swings are constructed, it takes some time to get back in a groove.</p><p>That wasn&#8217;t the case for Starlin Castro.</p><p>When the Yankees second baseman walked into the RailRiders clubhouse Friday afternoon, he was carrying one thing. His iPad.</p><p>Castro&#8217;s iPad is what has gotten him through his latest stay on the 10-day disabled list.</p><p>&#8220;Right when I got hurt, I just kept watching my at-bats in my iPad,&#8221; Castro said. &#8220;That&#8217;s one of the things that keeps me the same. Every day, still when I was hurt, when I wasn&#8217;t even doing swings, I would go home and watch my iPad, watch my good at-bats. That&#8217;s the thing that makes me pretty good.&#8221;</p><p>Out with a hamstring injury since July 22, watching video of his at-bats on his iPad has been one way the 27-year-old has stayed dialed in and kept his confidence up after earning his first All-Star Game nod since 2014 last month.</p><p>&#8220;Always. Especially if that&#8217;s my first time on the DL,&#8221; Castro said. &#8220;I always do it even when I&#8217;m playing. But now that I&#8217;m on the DL, I just all the time look at my good at-bats, and they make me feel good.</p><p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t want to lose my confidence, my good feeling at the plate, and that works for me.&#8221;</p><p>While Castro didn&#8217;t start his Major League rehab with a bang on Friday, he did work an eight-pitch walk in his fourth at-bat in the sixth inning.</p><p>Even though he grounded out twice to the shortstop, Friday night&#8217;s designated hitter was glad he got the opportunity to test his hamstring running to first base. Castro did just miss a pitch during his second at-bat, which was a pop-out to short.</p><p>&#8220;I think that&#8217;s the way that I want to look, like how I feel already,&#8221; Castro said of his performance. &#8220;I think I saw a lot of pitches already and I feel pretty good. Actually, I&#8217;m seeing the ball well and that&#8217;s all that matters now.</p><p>&#8220;I feel really strong. I don&#8217;t feel anything. I feel good.&#8221;</p><style>
