<p>Dr. Patrisia Macias-Rojas, assistant professor of sociology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will examine the political discourse of immigration and crime during the 2017 Labor Day lecture, 7 p.m., Sept. 7, in the Burke Auditorium, William G. McGowan School of Business, North River Street, at King&#8217;s College.</p><p>Titled &#8220;From Deportation to Prison: The Politics of Immigration Enforcement in Post-Civil Rights America,&#8221; the lecture is free and open to the public. The program is sponsored by the McGowan Center for Ethics and Social Responsibility at King&#8217;s.</p><p>Dr. Macias-Rojas earned her master&#8217;s degree and doctorate in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.</p><p>Parking will be available in on-campus lots.
