<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Severe thunderstorms are expected to descend on the Wyoming Valley on Tuesday, bringing with them the potential for damaging winds, heavy rain, large hail and an isolated tornado, according to the National Weather Service.</p><p>In the storms&#8217; wake, however, a cold front will give us cool, fall-like temperatures for the rest of the week.</p><p>The storms are expected to reach the region around 3 p.m. Heavy rains bring the potential for flooding. Be wary of high winds and damaging hail, as well as a potential tornado. The day will otherwise be hot and humid with a high of about 90. The low will plunge to 67 overnight.</p><p>Expect cool temperatures for the rest of the week.</p><p>Wednesday&#8217;s high is expected to reach 79. There will be a slight chance for showers in the morning. Clouds will give way to sunshine later in the day. The skies will remain mostly clear overnight with a low of 56.</p><p>Thursday is shaping up to be mostly sunny with a high of 75. The low will be around 53.</p><p>Friday&#8217;s high will be 74.
