<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Thomas Malloy, the son of a Wilkes-Barre district judge by the same name, was placed on probation for six months Tuesday under a program for first-time DUI defendants.</p><p>Malloy, 24, Wilkes-Barre, will have his record cleared if he successfully completes the terms of Luzerne County&#8217;s Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition.</p><p>Senior Judge Hugh Mundy accepted Malloy into the ARD program and also ordered him to perform 15 hours of community service. In addition, Malloy&#8217;s driving license was suspended for 60 days.</p><p>Wilkes-Barre police charged Malloy in February for a DUI crash at the intersection of South Main and West Ross streets. Police said Malloy was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup that struck two parked vehicles. Malloy fled but police found him behind a nearby store where he admitted to driving the pickup and drinking alcohol before the crash, court papers say.</p><p>Malloy was tested with a blood-alcohol level of .17 percent, records show, or more than twice the .08 driving limit.</p><p>When Malloy waived a preliminary hearing in April, two summary counts were withdrawn. Those included careless driving and causing an accident that damaged unattended vehicles.</p><style>
