Hanover Area falls hard in opener

<p>Williamsport quarterback Joe Fagnano threw for 166 yards and four touchdowns as the Millionaires opened the season with a 34-7 non-conference win over Central Mountain on Friday night.</p><p>Fagnano was the new starter as Times Leader Player of the Year Isaiah Hankins graduated. He connected twice to speedster Marcus Simmons for touchdown. Simmons finished with six receptions for 104 yards.</p><p>Running back Blaze McClements ran for 102 yards on 14 carries and one touchdown. Latrelle Jackson carried 10 times for 60 yards.</p><p><strong>Honesdale 38, GAR 8</strong></p><p>The Hornets snapped a 16-game losing streak with a home victory over GAR.</p><p>Honesdale&#8217;s last victory was 20-6 over Carbondale on Sept. 25, 2015.</p><p><strong>North Penn 14, Northwest 10</strong></p><p>The Rangers fell short in their road game against North Penn in Mansfield.</p><p>Jake Anderson paced Northwest with 20 rushes for 95 yards. Quarterback David Piestrak scored the Rangers&#8217; only touchdown on a 9-yard run with 2:55 left in the first quarter. He finished 6 of 19 through the air for 40 yards.</p><p>The Rangers got the ball back at midfield with 50 seconds remaining, but ended up turning over the ball on downs.</p><style>
