<p>DANVILLE &#8212; Nina Herbst, the mother of the family that was struck by a car last week in a Mountain Top development, has now improved to fair condition at Geisinger Medical Center, a nursing supervisor reported.</p><p>Nina, 37, was listed in critical condition earlier this week.</p><p>Nina, father Bryan, their four children and a cousin were all struck by a car driven by Jigna J. Kyada, 51, of Mountain Top, while walking in the Polonia Estates housing development in Rice Township last Friday, police reported.</p><p>Ten-month-old Tessa Herbst was in a stroller when she was hit. Tessa was upgraded to fair condition Monday.</p><p>Bryan and Nina&#8217;s 6- and 7-year-old sons, Tyler and Caden, were treated and released from the Danville hospital Friday, and their 8-year-old niece, Gabrielle Carlin, was released Sunday. Their daughter, Ella, 5, was upgraded from serious to fair condition Sunday. Ella remained in fair condition Wednesday.</p><p>Bryan, 35, was also in fair condition as of earlier this week, according to a spokeswoman at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.</p><p>A Rice Township officer said any potential filing of charges is pending the driver&#8217;s toxicology results.</p><p>Meanwhile, cousin Jennifer Bowden has started a crowdfunding page to benefit the family. As of Wednesday night, it had raised more than $47,000.</p><p>Bowden provided this update Wednesday:</p><p>&#8220;Nina started eating soft foods today, and worked with PT. She was very sore and had a lot of pain. I remind her that she and Bryan clearly took the brunt of it to protect the children, and that she is enduring this pain so that her children don&#8217;t have to.</p><p>&#8220;In good news, they were able to take Nina&#8217;s bed to pediatrics to see the girls for the first time. Ella needed that, as she missed her mommy.&#8221;</p><style>
