Is cleaner water to blame for fewer muskrats?

<p>SCRANTON &#8212; College students manned a table in Scranton at a women&#8217;s soccer match between Marywood University and Wilkes University on Saturday to raise money for the family struck by a car in Mountain Top late last month.</p><p>Bryan and Nina Herbst, their four children and their niece were injured in the accident Aug. 25 when they were hit by a vehicle driven by Jigna Kyada, 51, of Mountain Top.</p><p>As of <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/673515/infant-improving-after-mountain-top-crash-that-injured-7" target="_blank">Aug. 31</a>, Nina and Bryan remained hospitalized, while their children and niece had been released.</p><p>No charges have been filed against the driver, pending the results of a toxicology test.</p><p>According to <a href="http://marywoodpacers.com/news/2017/9/7/womens-soccer-after-fast-start-marywood-falls-at-lvc.aspx" target="_blank">Marywood University</a>, Nina Herbst is a former Marywood assistant coach and an alum of Wilkes University.</p><p>The non-conference soccer match, hosted by Marywood, acted as a fundraiser in an effort to offset the medical costs associated with the tragedy. More than $1,300 was raised for the family. In addition, a YouCaring <a href="https://www.youcaring.com/ninabryanherbstfamilycarlinfamily-914112" target="_blank">page </a>has raised over $55,000.</p><p>Meanwhile, more than a dozen field hockey players took turns taking donations for the Herbst family on Saturday afternoon. They also were selling $10 raffle tickets for chances to win jewelry donated by Rainbow Jewelers in Kingston. The jewelry donated amounted to a value of over $300.</p><p>One freshman who doesn&#8217;t know the family said she enjoyed everyone coming together to make a difference.</p><p>&#8220;It was doing really well. We sold a majority of the scarves for the women&#8217;s team,&#8221; Marywood field hockey player Maya Sortino said. &#8220;A lot of the Wilkes team actually came and supported as well and did a lot, bought raffle tickets and bought scarves that were in their school colors.&#8221;</p><style>
