<p>WWII veteran Walter Gantz was at Actors Circle&#8217;s preview performance of The Diary of Anne Frank. Before the show, the 93-year-old veteran spoke of his experiences during that horrific time. He was a technician 3rd grade staff sergeant (T3, 4 stripes) combat medic, fluent in speaking Polish, and met so many grateful citizens as they were rescued from the hands of the Hitler regime. After Walter&#8217;s mesmerizing speech about the happenings of the war, Actors Circle presented the words of Anne Frank, as dramatized by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, and audience members were given an up-close view on what it was like for Anne Frank to be hidden away with her family and others, in a small space, for over two years. Following the show, Walter met with the cast, and had a special embrace for Rebekah Conrad, who portrayed Anne Frank. George Conrad, directed this show, assisted by Linda C. Griffiths. Actors Circle continues its performances of The Diary of Anne Frank, Sept. 14, 15, 16 and 17, Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m.; at Providence Playhouse, 1256 Providence Road, Scranton.
