<p>KINGSTON TWP. &#8212; After a two-year hiatus, The Lands at Hillside Farms will hold its annual Fall Fest this Saturday and Sunday.</p><p>The annual festival was on hold due to ongoing bridge construction on Hillside Road, said event organizer Guy Kroll.</p><p>&#8220;The last Fall Festival was held in 2014,&#8221; he said.</p><p>Now that bridge repairs are complete, the farm-family event will return with a lot of vendors and activities, including animals painting.</p><p>That&#8217;s right: Animals that paint!</p><p>The farm&#8217;s pigs and chickens will showcase their creative side and paint, Kroll said with laughter in his voice.</p><p>Kroll said it is the first time the nonprofit will try such an activity. He assures the four-legged artists&#8217; safety and well-being will be a priority.</p><p>Fall Fest will run noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at 65 Hillside Road, Shavertown.</p><p>There is a $10 fee to park but no admission fee to the fair, Kroll said. Some activities such as face painting, pumpkin painting and pony rides will have a small participation fee, he noted.</p><p>All proceeds raised from the Fall Fest will benefit The Lands at Hillside Farms Education Department, which hosts a variety of community events throughout the year, including class trips and programs such as a Grief Camp, Kroll said.</p><p>The event will offer a small hay maze for young children, a wagon ride through The Lands at Hillside Farms&#8217; fields and over 30 vendors.</p><p>&#8220;The number of vendors goes up every day,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We have a lot of artists coming.&#8221;</p><p>The 24th Connecticut Militia Regiment will set up a Revolutionary War encampment depicting life during the era as well as a muzzle-loader firing display.</p><p>&#8220;There is a man who puts on a demonstration as a (Revolutionary War) surgeon,&#8221; said Kroll.</p><p>Guests will have the opportunity to meet some of the farms&#8217; residents as some sheep and calves will be led around the festival by volunteers.</p><p>Kroll said a lumber demonstration will show how a log is cut into lumber, and a wood carver will exhibit his steady hand with a chainsaw.</p><p>Live musical entertainment will be provided by K-8 on Saturday and Totem Pole on Sunday.</p><style>
