<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Two free prep sessions are scheduled ahead of the city&#8217;s upcoming entry-level police officers exam.</p><p>The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department will conduct the sessions, said Police Chief Marcella Lendacky.</p><p>&#8220;Right now we&#8217;re down six officers,&#8221; Lendacky said Monday.</p><p>The first session will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McGowan building, 5 W. Union St., Wilkes-Barre on the King&#8217;s College campus. The other session will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 105 Hill St., Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>Officers will go over the book used in the test and provide tips and pointers on taking the exam, Lendacky said.</p><p>The Wilkes-Barre Police Civil Service Commission will hold the test at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 14 at Holy Redeemer High School, 159 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Candidates must past the written exam in order to be eligible for the physical test to be held next month.</p><p>Chief Lendacky said officers also will provide information about the physical exam at the pre-test sessions.</p><p>Time is running out to apply for the written test, she added. Applications are due by 4 p.m. Tuesday and available at the City Clerk&#8217;s office on the fourth floor of City Hall, 40 E. Market St., Wilkes-Barre, or online at http://www.wilkes-barre.pa.us/forms/csa2014.pdf, the city said. A non-refundable $100 fee is due with the completed application.</p><p>Lendacky said she&#8217;s pleased with the number of applications submitted to date. &#8220;I believe it&#8217;s more than 80,&#8221; she said.</p><p>Information regarding the written and physical exams also will be issued when the application is submitted.</p><p>The city is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and hires employees in all job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or family status.</p><style>
