After strike, classes resume Tuesday in Dallas School District

<p>PLAINS TWP. &#8212; Reports of a man with a weapon at a nearby mobile home park led to the lockdown of a Wilkes-Barre Area school Tuesday morning.</p><p>The Wilkes-Barre Area Career &amp; Technical Center was placed on lockdown while Plains Township officers investigated the reports emanating from the Pocono Mobile Home Park.</p><p>Police were called to the park at 7:42 a.m. for reports of a man with a weapon threatening to harm himself at a home he used to live in. He allegedly fired a round into the air before fleeing.</p><p>In a Facebook post, Plains Township Police made it clear there was no active shooter at the school itself, and it was placed under lockdown only as a precaution. The school was under lockdown for less than an hour, authorities reported.</p><p>The man was not located, but police said they know his identity and that he poses no threat to the community.</p><p>Calls to Wilkes-Barre Area CTC and Wilkes-Barre Area School District for more information were not returned.</p><style>
