Their view: Even the NRA sees a problem with bump stocks

<p>KINGSTON TWP. &#8212; Take a break and enjoy some family time - unplugged.</p><p>That&#8217;s the message behind the Back Mountain Harvest Assembly&#8217;s second annual Fall Fest and Food Truck Fair scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 14, according to Pastor Linda Sapack.</p><p>The Fall Fest and Food Truck Fair offers a variety of free carnival games that include pumpkin ring toss, Nerf gun shoot, a candy wheel, fishing hole, a Pinewood Derby-style car race and rain gutter boat race, to name a few.</p><p>Children can also have their faces painted. Children younger than 12 years old will receive a free pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, Sapack added.</p><p>Sapack and her assistant Sally Ostrowski said there will be inflatables and six food truck vendors.</p><p>&#8220;The food trucks bring in a nice variety of food options, which we would not be able to provide,&#8221; Sapack said.</p><p>Food truck vendors include Boschi&#8217;s Gourmet Apples, Fire and Ice, Mannings Ice Cream, Pittston Popcorn Company, Uncle Buck&#8217;s BBQ and Yogi&#8217;s Ethnic Foods.</p><p>The event provides area families an opportunity to reconnect with each other, enjoy a variety of games and earn fun prizes.</p><p>&#8220;With the nation in such turmoil, I don&#8217;t know if people have an opportunity to have fun,&#8221; Sapack said.</p><p>The church parish held the event in 2016 and was inspired by the community support and attendance.</p><p>Ostrowski said many guests last year were surprised the games and prizes were free.</p><p>&#8220;People were surprised to hear everything (except for the food trucks) was free,&#8221; Ostrowski said. &#8220;They would tell me, &#8217; this is amazing&#8217; and &#8216;please do it again.&#8217;&#8221;</p><p>The public&#8217;s requests were heard, sending Jody Hummel back to the drawing board to create new carnival games for this year.</p><p>Volunteer Dennis Mahoney spent nearly 50 hours building frames for the carnival games, which were being erected on two sides of the church on Sept. 26.</p><p>Ostrowski said up to 80 volunteers chip in to help host the annual event.</p><p>The Fall Fest and Food Truck Fair developed out of an in-house program called Fam Jam, Sapack said.</p><p>&#8220;This in-house event was well received, so we decided to open this event to the community,&#8221; Sapack said.</p><style>
