<p>KISSIMMEE, Fla. &#8212; A man with ties to Luzerne County was allegedly killed by his roommate in Florida this week, according to media reports.</p><p>Nick Corvino, 30, was shot 13 times while he was sleeping in bed, police told the Orlando Sentinel.</p><p>Corvino grew up in Berwick before moving out as a teen and graduating from Wyoming Valley West High School, reports the Press Enterprise of Bloomsburg.</p><p>Corvino later moved to Florida, studying political science at the University of Central Florida and working at Walt Disney World for years, according to his Facebook page.</p><p>While in Florida, he also got involved in the political world.</p><p>He worked on Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi&#8217;s re-election campaign, served as a district secretary for a state lawmaker, and also worked on President Donald Trump&#8217;s campaign.</p><p>&#8220;Nick Corvino was a great young man who had his entire life ahead of him,&#8221; Bondi said in a statement. &#8220;He was charismatic and kind.&#8221;</p><p>Corvino&#8217;s roommate, Scott D. Waddell, 45, is charged with first-degree murder.</p><p>Police say he had blood on his hands and feet when deputies knocked on the apartment&#8217;s door, according to the Sentinel.</p><p>Corvino suffered gunshot wounds to his back, head and legs, court papers say.</p><p>Waddell reportedly told police he and Corvino were drinking beer and watching TV the night before the shooting. He told deputies he didn&#8217;t remember shooting Corvino.</p><p>Police also said Waddell told them he was &#8220;mentally disabled&#8221; and had taken medication before going to bed the night of the murder. He also said he sometimes had homicidal thoughts but had never acted on them, the Sentinel reported.</p><p>Waddell was locked up at the Osceola County Jail on the murder charge.</p><style>
