<p><em>A.J. Jump, a 33-year-old native of Plains Township, is a professional drummer, private educator and owner/general manager of new music venue Karl Hall, which is scheduled to hold its grand opening in downtown Wilkes-Barre early next year.</em></p><p>1. As a professional drummer I have recorded on 150-plus tracks, 12-plus albums, and have played live in more than 60 cities in 40 states and two countries.</p><p>2. I have worked with many great musicians, engineers and producers, including Bret Alexander (The Badlees), J. Robbins (Jawbox, Clutch), Bobby &#8220;Raw&#8221; Anderson (SoCo, Jack&#8217;s Mannequin, John Legend) and Justin King.</p><p>3. Two musical situations highlight my career. One, I got to play a gig with legendary keyboard player and musical director of The Band, Garth Hudson. Two, I spent weeks at a time making an album with my band King Radio at Jim Scott&#8217;s studio Plyrz in Los Angeles. Jim is one of the world&#8217;s greatest engineers and also an incredible producer. He has won the Grammy for Album of the Year twice with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Dixie Chicks. He has engineered and produced some of my favorite artists, including Wilco, Johnny Cash, Ryan Adams, Rage Against The Machine and Tom Petty, to name a few. Jim has become a great friend and mentor.</p><p>4. In fifth grade I won the Stan Woleski basketball camp three-point competition.</p><p>5. I love sports. My favorite annual event is tennis&#8217; Australian Open.</p><p>6. I have seen over 500 concerts.</p><p>7. My Aunt Katherine &#8220;Kitty&#8221; Jump was a colonel in the Army. She served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. She was the director of nursing at Walter Reed hospital in Washington, D.C., and I witnessed her burial at Arlington National Cemetery.</p><p>8. For a year and a half I lived in Eugene, Ore., and worked on a legal marijuana farm for a company called Oregon Cannabis Authority.</p><p>9. I own a duplex apartment in Kingston that I completely renovated.</p><p>10. I am the middle of three children.
