<p>HAZLETON &#8212; Two men face charges after police say one was found with a large amount of heroin and the other in possession of a firearm during a saturation patrol in the area of 2nd and Alter streets.</p><p>According to a police report:</p><p>The operation was conducted at approximately 11 p.m. due to an earlier report of shots being fired. After arriving on scene, officers observed Rickeem Singleton Jr., 22, and William Tyrik Johnson, 29, walking across the street and attempting to enter a blue Chevrolet Trailblazer, according to the police report.</p><p>After noticing the officers, Singleton entered the vehicle and Johnson began to flee on foot down 2nd Street. Singleton attempted to flee in the vehicle down 2nd Street, but was apprehended.</p><p>Singleton was found to be in possession of a large amount of heroin as well as $721 in cash. He was taken into custody and the vehicle was impounded.</p><p>While attempting to flee, Johnson discarded a Highpoint 9mm handgun fully loaded with seven rounds. He turned to go the opposite direction on 2nd Street, but was also apprehended by police.</p><p>Singleton was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute. Johnson was charged with person not to posses a firearm, firearm not to be carried without license, and possession of firearm with altered or obliterated serial number.</p><style>
