<p>SCRANTON &#8212; On a frigid, windy night in the Electric City, Scranton Prep remained perfect on the season at 11-0 with a dominating 42-0 home victory over Meyers in its playoff opener at Scranton Memorial Stadium.</p><p>Meyers&#8217; defense had no answer to slow down the Cavaliers&#8217; fast-paced offense that scored on five of their first six offensive possessions in the first half.</p><p>Scranton Prep opened up the scoring barrage six minutes into the contest when junior quarterback Leo O&#8217;Boyle connected with senior tight end Cree Coccodrilli on a 13-yard touchdown pass to take an early 7-0 advantage. Just two and a half minutes later senior fullback Ivan Balavage barreled his way into the end zone on a 3-yard score to give his squad a 14-0 lead as the first stanza was coming to an end.</p><p>Senior standout tailback Matt Gilmartin would get in on all the scoring fun with 9:32 left in the second quarter when he sprinted down the sidelines for a 38-yard touchdown run to give the Cavaliers a three touchdown lead. Gilmartin would run for a game-high 79 yards on 18 carries.</p><p>The scoring outbursts would continue for the Cavaliers just two minutes later when O&#8217;Boyle hooked up with Coccodrilli for their second touchdown connection. This score was a 32-yard bomb to his wide-open tight end to up the lead to 28-0.</p><p>The final points in the first half came after a key punt block gave the Cavaliers the ball at Meyers&#8217; the 3-yard line. It took until fourth down, after Meyers held firm against three straight runs at the goal line, but O&#8217;Boyle would not be denied as he connected with senior Sam Dickson on a tip-toe 2-yard touchdown pass in the back of the end zone to give Scranton Prep an overwhelming 35-0 advantage heading into the locker room.</p><p>The final Scranton Prep points on the night came with 7:14 left in the third quarter, when the Cavaliers capitalized on an integral Dickson interception that he would return to the 15-yard line. A few plays later, O&#8217;Boyle would reward Dickson for his defensive prowess when he connected with him on a 5-yard touchdown pass, his second scoring catch of the contest, to give their school a 42-0 commanding lead that would not be relinquished.</p><p>O&#8217;Boyle completed eight of his 12 passes for 103-yards, to go along with his impressive four scores through the air.</p><p>Meyers speedy senior standout quarterback Janssen Wilborn was held to only 18-yards on eight carries to go along with completing 12 of his 29 passes for 71 yards and two interceptions.</p><p>Jeff Labatch&#8217;s Mohawks finish their 2017 campaign with a 6-5 record, improving on last season&#8217;s 5-6 record, including beating their rival, GAR, in overtime to wrap up the regular season last week.</p><style>
