Third-graders from Dallas Elementary School write letters to veterans

<p>Lew Matalavy of Wyoming County captured this unique white squirrel on his trail camera last winter. The squirrel sticks out against the drab gray winter woods, and it&#8217;s likely an easier target for predators.</p><p>Matalavy said white squirrel was spotted on numerous occasions in the area, but there&#8217;s no word of any recent sightings. While albinism can occur in any squirrel species, it&#8217;s most common in gray squirrels. White squirrels that lack the red eyes of true albinos are the result of a genetic variation known as leucism, which is actually a partial loss of pigmentation in the fur.</p><p><em>Capture anything interesting on your hand-held or trail camera?
