Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott drops appeal, will serve rest of 6-game ban

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A former volleyball coach for two area high schools who was accused of sending sexually explicit text messages to minors pleaded guilty Wednesday.</p><p>Nicholas Diaco, 27, admitted to two counts each of corruption of minors and unlawful conduct with a minor.</p><p>Luzerne County Judge David J. Lupas set Diaco&#8217;s sentencing for Jan. 12, 2018.</p><p>Diaco had been the head girls volleyball coach at Wyoming Area for more than three years and the boys head volleyball coach at Dallas High School for more than four years, according to his LinkedIn account.</p><p>In September 2016, Exeter Police received a call from Wyoming Area Principal Vito Quaglia, who alerted them to &#8220;lengthy sexually explicit text messages&#8221; sent by Diaco to a female student he coached on the volleyball team, court papers say.</p><p>Diaco, of Luzerne, was suspended from his position at Wyoming Area shortly after the allegations surfaced, and he eventually resigned as coach. He was also suspended from his job as a financial analyst at Community Medical Center in Scranton.</p><p>Diaco will be required to undergo sex offender treatment and must register under Megan&#8217;s Law. He cannot visit places that minors frequent and cannot have any unsupervised contact with minors.</p><p>He remains free on $25,000 bail ahead of his sentencing.</p><style>
