<p>PLAINS TWP. &#8212; Tragedy once again struck a Plains Township home Friday as a fire ripped through the same residence where a child drowned over the summer.</p><p>Calls for the blaze at 43 Perkins St. came in about 1:30 p.m.</p><p>No one was home at the time, officials say. But three pets inside died.</p><p>Plains Township Fire Captain Charlie Krommes said the fire likely started in the basement.</p><p>Damage could be seen throughout all floors of the home, with windows broken out and curtains charred.</p><p>The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Krommes said. He called for a State Police fire marshal to assist.</p><p>Medical crews found a dog and a cat dead when they arrived at the scene. A second dog showed some signs of life. Oxygen was administered, but attempts at reviving the pet failed.</p><p>A woman looking noticeably distraught arrived later in the afternoon. Her name was not immediately available.</p><p>County records show the property is owned by Daniel Rigle.</p><p>In July, 3-year-old Nico Bostick drowned in the home&#8217;s pool. Luzerne County Coroner Bill Lisman ruled the drowning accidental.</p><p>A sign outside the home shows the owners were attempting to sell the property. The home is also listed on numerous real estate websites, with some showing that it was listed for the first time in mid-November.</p><p>Fire crews responded from Plains Township and Kingston.</p><style>
