Trump tells March for Life: ‘We are with you all the way’

CLARKS SUMMIT &#8212; Pat Kelly, director of Care Net in Scranton, will deliver a report on the center at 10 a.m. Jan. 28 during the morning worship service of the Country Alliance Church, 14014 Orchard Drive, Clarks Summit. The center offers services to women who are or may be pregnant at no cost. Pastor Glen Bayly hopes the presentation will help educate the congregation about Care Net and its valuable services and help spread the word to women in the region who could benefit. The Northeast Photography Club will hold a juried exhibit as part of the show. The Chili Cafe will provide a place to warm up, grab a bite to eat, and listen to student musicians perform from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 17, and Eddy Ray, &#8220;Pennsylvania&#8217;s Busiest Magician,&#8221; will perform from 2 to 3 p.m.EXETER TWP. &#8212; The Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Mt. Zion Road, Harding, will host their first All-You-Can-Eat Soup and Salad Supper of the year from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 3. A variety of soups, chili, salads, breads, beverages and desserts will be available. Adult dinners cost $7, and children&#8217;s dinners cost $4. Everyone is welcome to enjoy food and fellowship. MOUNTAIN TOP &#8212; St. Paul&#8217;s Lutheran Church, 316 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, will host a free movie night Jan. 22. On Jan. 28, members of the youth group will participate in a soup sale on Jan. 28. Soups will cost $7 per quart and featured soups will be vegetable, piggy stew, cheddar-broccoli, clam chowder and Italian wedding soup. Money raised will benefit the trip to Houston for the ELCA National Youth Gathering. The Youth Group Pajama Party will take place at 6 p.m. Feb. 2, an evening of games, pizza and perhaps a movie. Patrons can order from any youth attending the gathering. The church will host a Valentine Gathering on Feb. 10. A trip to Sight &amp; Sound Theatres will take place on June 16 to see the musical &#8220;Jesus.&#8221; The trip costs $130 for adults, $73 for children and $50 for children 12 and younger. Over the span of two years, the church will collect and lift up the stories of local churches and affiliates. They want to hear about the knitting clubs, the food pantries, the community meals, protest, letter writing campaigns and anything else churches and organizations may be doing to create a just world for all. Nothing is too small.
