<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A child reportedly fell down an elevator shaft Tuesday evening at Luzerne County Community College&#8217;s downtown Corporate Learning Center.</p><p>The victim was a 5-year-old boy who fell &#8220;approximately two stories&#8221; in the building at 2 Public Square, according to a post on the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/Wilkes-Barre-City-Firefighters-IAFF-Local-104-314333138920764/" target="_blank">Wilkes-Barre City Firefighters IAFF Local 104&#8217;s Facebook </a><a href="https://www.facebook.com/Wilkes-Barre-City-Firefighters-IAFF-Local-104-314333138920764/" target="_blank">page</a>.</p><p>The child was rescued from the elevator pit in the basement, according to the post, and then taken away in an ambulance.</p><p>A second ambulance was called for a man who was injured while trying to reach the boy, the post stated. He was also taken to a trauma center.</p><p>The mishap occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m.</p><p>Assistant Fire Chief Damian Lendacky confirmed there was an incident involving two individuals and an elevator.
