Their view: Banning tackle football for kids? There’s nothing ‘nanny state’ about it if the science is sound

<p>As snow falls in the Wyoming Valley on Super Bowl Sunday, area residents should expect more of the same through Sunday night and into early Monday morning.</p><p>According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, N.Y., a winter weather advisory will remain in effect for Luzerne, Lackawanna and Wayne countries until 1 a.m. Monday. The storm is expected to drop between 1 and 3 inches of snow in the valleys and as much as 6 inches in the higher elevations.</p><p>Due to the severity of the storm, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has temporarily reduced the speed limit on several roadways in the region.</p><p>PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel, but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following highways:</p><p>&#8226; Interstate 80</p><p>&#8226; Interstate 81</p><p>&#8226; Interstate 84</p><p>&#8226; Interstate 380</p><p>The heaviest snow is expected to stop by early evening. However, the snow could change to rain and freezing rain as the day goes on, according to the weather service.</p><p>Check back at www.timesleader.com for details.</p><style>
