<p>Winter is coming &#8212; back to the Wyoming Valley, that is.</p><p>Tuesday&#8217;s brief glimpse of the sun will be succeeded by some rough, wintry conditions on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service, <a href="https://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=PAZ047&amp;warncounty=PAC079&amp;firewxzone=PAZ047&amp;local_place1=Wilkes%20Barre%20PA&amp;product1=Winter+Storm+Warning&amp;lat=41.2428&amp;lon=-75.8771" target="_blank">which has issued a winter storm warning</a>, beginning at 4 a.m. and continuing until 10 p.m.</p><p>Motorists should plan on difficult travel conditions and reduced visibility, especially during Wednesday morning&#8217;s commute.</p><p>Here is what you need to know:</p><p>&#8226; Wyoming, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, and Southern Wayne Counties could see heavy mixed precipitation, NWS says. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches are expected, with localized amounts up to 10 inches over the higher elevations. A thin coating of ice may also affect some areas.</p><p>&#8226; Steady snow is first expected to develop between 4 and 7 a.m. The heaviest snowfall rates, at times 1 to 2 inches per hour, should occur between roughly 8 a.m. and Noon, NWS says.</p><p>&#8226; Snow is expected to mix with, or change over to sleet, freezing rain, and rain during the afternoon, especially over the Wyoming and Lackawanna Valleys, including Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, the weather service added. Steady precipitation should end by early evening.</p><p><strong>In your community</strong></p><p>Several Wyoming Valley municipalities have announced parking bans and other weather-related news:</p><p>&#8226; Kingston Borough &#8212; No parking on the even-numbered side of streets from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday.</p><p>&#8226; <a href="https://luzerne.crimewatchpa.com/fortyfortpd/42692/post/snow-emergency-parking-ban" target="_blank">Forty Fort</a> &#8212; Snow emergency declared from 11 p.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. Thursday. This will include an overnight parking ban on Wyoming Avenue, Welles Street, River Street (from Rutter Avenue to Wyoming Avenue), Slocum Street, Shoemaker Street, Dennison Street and the entire length of Murray Street. Vehicles not removed from the affected roadways during the parking ban will be subject to ticketing and towing.</p><p>&#8226; <a href="https://www.facebook.com/westpittstonpd/" target="_blank">West Pittston</a> &#8212; Police have asked residents to avoid parking on borough streets if possible. &#8220;Also, please avoid throwing snow onto the roadway as it&#8217;s a violation of a borough ordinance,&#8221; police added.</p><p>Check back for updates.</p><style>
