New trial date set for accused Sherman Hills shooter

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A man from Franklin County scheduled for trial next week on charges he attempted to disarm a Wilkes-Barre police officer last year was hit with assault charges.</p><p>An arrest warrant was issued for Kirshawn Bowe, 26, of Chambersburg, after city police alleged he strangled and punched a pregnant woman in front of their two children.</p><p>District Judge Thomas Malloy issued the warrant on Friday.</p><p>Police allege Bowe was walking with Tennisha Howard, 22, and their two children in a stroller in the Sherman Hills apartment complex when they encountered Howard&#8217;s ex-boyfriend on Thursday. Howard continued to walk with the children as Bowe spoke to the ex-boyfriend.</p><p>A few minutes later, Bowe walked into Howard&#8217;s apartment and began assaulting her, according to the criminal complaint.</p><p>Howard alleged Bowe strangled her, banged her head against a wall and held a knife to her throat saying, &#8220;I&#8217;ll slice up your face,&#8221; the complaint says.</p><p>Howard ran out of the apartment and banged on another door in the apartment building yelling for someone to call 911.</p><p>Police allege Bowe assaulted Howard in front of the two children.</p><p>Bowe is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, strangulation, endangering the welfare of children, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and harassment.</p><p>Court records say Bowe is scheduled for trial before Luzerne County Judge David Lupas on Feb. 19 on charges he attempted to disarm a city police officer investigating a domestic disturbance at the Sherman Hills apartment complex involving Howard on Aug. 22.</p><p>Bowe&#8217;s trial includes charges of disarming a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. He was released from the county correctional facility after posting $75,000 bail, court records say.</p><p>While free on bail, Bowe was charged with another domestic violence case against Howard on Jan. 30.</p><style>
